Pastor Mary Shelnutt, Ground Zero Rescue's founder, Prays With Other Members of the Ministerial Association, City Officials And Citizens
At National Day of Prayer in Enterprise, Alabama

Ground Zero Rescue representatives and residents attended the National Day of Prayer at the City Hall in Enterprise, Alabama. We are honored that our founder, Pastor Mary Shelnutt, was asked to offer prayer for the city leaders and the city at this annual event. According to Mayor Kenneth Boswell, this year's turnout was much larger than those in the past. It was a day of music, celebration, prayer and worship for the Lord for the community.

Please view the photos below for a glimpse of this wonderful day.

Ground Zero Rescue honored nine graduates who completed the voluntary 90-day restoration program and are now one-step closer to independent living. To celebrate the success of these residents, Ground Zero held a cook-out with the support of ministry partners and local businesses.

Thanks to all those who attended, and we especially extend congratulations to our shelter residents who completed this important step and will continue move to the next level in our program.

Military Work Day At Ground Zero

Thanks Fort Rucker!

Ground Zero Rescue Missions salutes and thanks our military service men and women stationed at Fort Rucker, located in Enterprise, Alabama!

These men and women volunteered to donate their time and money to build bunk beds for our shelter facility, generously donated a much needed washer and dryer, cleaned our shelter in Enterprise, and even provided lunch to our residents! Thank you so much for protecting us here at home and abroad and for serving the community. We are grateful!

A special thanks to Lieutenant Aaron Stark and his wife who visited the shelter, saw the need, and initiated the project work day. Also, we extend our gratitude to Lieutenant Colonel Shaun Bailey who mobilized the troops for this special day!

Pastor Mary Shelnutt, Chaplain for the Association of Republican Women, Coffee County Chapter for the year 2009, gave the invocation at a meeting with Alabama's First Lady, Patsy Riley, in attendance. Mrs. Riley, wife of Governor Bob Riley, spoke to the chapter about her "Birthday Wish" program, established in conjunction with the Alabama Foster Care Association and many other contributing organizations.

Ground Zero Rescue is proud of our First Lady's dedication to foster children and is a proud sponsor of the "Birthday Wish" program for foster children living in the State of Alabama.
