Ground Zero Rescue Missions provides a broad range of services necessary to assist individuals in varying stages of homelessness from rescue to complete restoration as an independent and contributing member of the community. Although our facilities are based to serve the tri-county regions of Coffee, Dale and Geneva counties, located in Southeastern Alabama, referrals and the migrant nature of the homeless condition allows us to assist individuals across the United States. Through partnerships and donations with local government and law enforcement, ministries, churches, businesses, community organizations, and caring individuals, we are able to provide the following services:
Crisis Accommodations We serve individuals and families who find themselves in emergency need of shelter. Most of these people walk in to one of our shelters with no place to go, and we make every effort to provide them with short-term housing, nutritious meals and clothing. Individuals and families needing crisis shelter may also be referred from local missions, ministries, and other agencies. During inclement weather, the shelters are flooded with people who may ordinarily sleep in their automobiles, in the woods or anywhere else they may find shelter. Currently, Ground Zero's office location at 383 Geneva Highway in Enterprise, Alabama is the only facility available for crisis needs. The need for more shelter facilities is enormous, and it is heartbreaking to turn such desperate people away for lack of space. Please consider donating real estate or financially to help us expand our capacity for shelter.
Long-Term Housing Options Because many of our homeless residents desire to rebuild their lives and participate in our numerous programs and classes, these individuals need long-term housing. These residents are encouraged to stay with us for 100 days to receive counseling, spiritual help, transition to work assistance and preparation for the process of re-entering society. Both our Enterprise and Geneva facilities offer long-term housing. In addition to shelter, food and clothing, Ground Zero provides transportation to enable our residents to participate in these valuable programs. Our needs are great in the areas of shelter facilities, household goods and furnishings, food, clothing, toiletries and all the items required to run a home. Please consider donating in any of these areas that we may continue restoring the homeless to independence within society.
Restoration Classes Broken people are the people we serve at Ground Zero. The circumstances of abuse, major losses in every area of individual or family life, the cumulative emotional affect of survival in the streets, isolation and many other horrific life experiences require time and assistance to help mend the lives of our residents. Our classes are designed to help in this process.
Spiritual Development
Ground Zero's spiritual based programs address the broken and wounded spirits of our residents. Biblical based studies are a daily part of life at Ground Zero. We believe that the spirit must be restored through relationship with God which is accomplished through studying and applying God's word, attending bible studies, and church services.
